Pete Lenihan on keyboards.
A jazz fan since he was a young boy, Pete took his first piano
lesson as a student at San Francisco City College after his
discharge from the Navy. Now a resident of Port Orford, he
frequently appears at clubs in Southern Oregon and Northern
California. And for six months each year, he lives in San Jose
del Cabo, Mexico, where he performs with musical colleagues from
Brazil, Cuba, and Argentina.
Ted Owen
on drums. In the days when artists of color were still
prohibited from the stage in this country, many took their music
to the concert halls of Europe and Canada. Ted was playing drums
in an after-hours club in Vancouver, British Columbia, where
musicians would come to jam after their concerts. Over the
years, he performed with jazz luminaries such as Lena Horne,
Billie Holiday, Lionel Hampton, and Sammy Davis Jr.
Ryan Collins on guitar.
Ryan began his music career in Seattle, playing with original
rock-and-roll bands. He developed an interest in jazz when he
was in high school and enrolled in Central Washington
University’s jazz program. Ryan moved to Port Orford 11 years
ago, and in addition to his work with the trio, plays at the
Blue Moon in Coos Bay with Josh Baldwin.
Wilbur
Jensen
on trumpet. A familiar figure on the South Coast music scene,
Wilbur was born into a family of musicians. As a teenager, he
was a two-time guest soloist with the Chicago Symphony. Along
with his wife Judy, Wilbur is a charter member of the Bay Area
Concert Band, and he also performs with a traditional Dixieland
ensemble, a big band, and a brass quintet
