"Evolution"
In cooperation with Southwestern Oregon Community College, the Oregon Coast Lab Band has been providing and promoting involvement in music for youth ages 9 – 21 since the 1990’s. There are currently four skill level bands: Beginning, Junior, Senior, and Evolution. The older students mentor younger musicians, embodying the band motto: “Passing it on.” The primary mission is to make this musical experience available to young people without regard to financial resources. Evolution has played yearly at the Southcoast Clambake Dixieland Jazz Festival, and other regional and national jazz events including the Medford Jazz Jubilee, the Sacramento Jazz Jubilee, and the Sun Valley Jazz Jubilee. Their youthful energy and passion for music is evident in every concert.
