Notes on the 2010 Oregon Coast Music Festival! Every single performance was first rate, from the Bay Area Concert Band who opened the Festival at Mingus Park to Jammin' at Jardins with Bump Kitchen. In-between came the delights of Soul Pie and Evolution at The Mill Casino, a sparkling performance by Kukuva at Shore Acres, and an incredible jazz program led by Towner Gallaher at the OIMB Boathouse. But the greatest performances were the three Festival Orchestra concerts. James Paul's two concerts were brilliant, with the performance on the final night by soloist Steven Moeckel bringing the house down. Jason Klein's evening with the Pops was as entertaining as ever. Indeed, we held a world-class Festival in 2010! And now that the 2011 Festival is rapidly approaching, we again need the volunteers and community support that made last year so special. Contact any Association Board Member, or call the Association office, (541) 267-0938, and a Board Member will contact you. Or e-mail us at staff@oregoncoastmusic.com. 2010's Festival Poster Designed by Artist Jerry Baron. Reviews: "Coos
Bay may be a long way from Portland or San Francisco, but the concerts
of the Oregon Coast Music Festival rival the best heard in the bigger
cities. Live orchestral classical music performed before a regional
audience is a rare cultural jewel. It deserves our respect and
support." ----Keith Henty, JEFFERSON PUBLIC RADIO |
